Also, Bogards use of the statistic of 8 of 10 children never know[ing] a sky dark enough for the milky way reinforces the summary sense of urgency for preserving darkness that he builds through out the passage. After opening with his sensory story, Bogard pivots to of the of morals assemble the bulk of the end, his argument, barraging the reader with examples of the gatsby sparknotes benefits of darkness. His first piece of the end of poverty summary, evidence involves the health benefits of natural darkness, particularly its role in preventing cancer. Groundwork Metaphysics Of Morals. Although it has a few strong quotes, the explanations tend to drift into vagueness: big, threatening words; Instead, Paul Bogard is a man who ready and willing to solve the of poverty summary problems that lay before him. (this is an empty platitude and says nothing about the text); our day to day lifes have also been filled with countless arguments of how we are ruining our planet (filler; off topic to the essay). Evaluate Business Mining. Additionally, the introduction gives an example of an emotional appeal to which the essay never returns. The writer should avoid giving examples in the introduction; he can list the types of techniques the author uses to do his job but should wait for the body for the examples. In terms of the end of poverty, formatting, the student does not need to start a new paragraph before every quotation. Most of the very short introductory paragraphs can lead right into the quotes that follow without a paragraph break. Parental Expectations Based on Gender. For every 10 Google searches about boys being overweight (Is my son overweight?) there are 17 about girls (Is my daughter overweight?). For every 10 Google searches about daughters being gifted, (Is my daughter gifted?), there are 25 for of poverty summary boys (Is my son gifted?). This recent study of sparknotes, Internet search data suggests that parents may hold different expectations for of poverty summary their children based on gender; it appears that parents may be want their girls thinner and their boys smarter. The data on loss, the search is accurate, but is the explanation? Do parents hope for different things for their sons and daughters? Read and carefully consider these perspectives.

Each suggests a particular way of thinking about parents' expectations of their children. Even though parents are more worried more about their daughters being overweight than their sons, it doesn't mean they want less for their daughters. The End Of Poverty. They just realize that kids can be crueler to girls than boys when it comes to weight. Because teachers are more likely to recognize giftedness in girls than in boys, who can appear to be less studious in school, parents aren't searching about girls. Boys are often underestimated in the classroom, so parents have to pick up the slack. As a whole, parents hold different standards for their kids based on the reconstruction, gender, but it's not done consciously. Since society places so much pressure on girls to be thin and boys to be smart, those stereotypes get absorbed without the parents knowing it.

Write a unified, coherent essay in which you evaluate multiple perspectives on parents' expectations for their children based on gender. In your essay, be sure to: analyze and evaluate the perspectives given state and develop your own perspective on the issue explain the the end relationship between your perspective and those given. Your perspective may be in full agreement with any of the others, in partial agreement, or wholly different. Whatever the case, support your ideas with logical reasoning and detailed, persuasive examples. You may wish to consider the loss of a cousin following as you think critically about the task: Strengths and weaknesses of the the end summary three given perspectives. What insights do they offer, and loss of a what do they fail to the end consider? Why might they be persuasive to others, or why might they fail to persuade? Your own knowledge, experience, and Evaluate Conduct Mining Industry values. What is your perspective on the end of poverty, this issue, and gatsby what are its strengths and weaknesses?

How will you support your perspective in your essay? Parents may expect things from their children, depending on their genders. Of Poverty. Genders have become stereotyped and it leads people to have expectations for each one of them. Sometimes, parents expect these things so that their child could be happy, but it could make the of the metaphysics of morals child upset and feel unwanted. Society can put so much pressure on a girls weight and a boys intelligence that parents start to take in these thoughts. The pressure and expectations on a girls weight differs from the pressure on boys. Parents only expect girls to be thinner to avoid seeing their daughter get bullied.

Peers can be more harsh to fat girls than they can be to of poverty summary fat boys. Because of this, parents might force their daughters to excersize more or eat less. Evaluate Industry. These kind of treatments from society and parents could lead to anorexia or depression, even if the the end girl may not seem fat. I dont think anyone should care about the weight of anyone. People should only pay attention to themselves. Having different expectations about weight, boys have another quality that concerns parents. Seeming less studious in class, parents underestimate their sons and push them to do better. Teachers can see intelligence in Conduct Mining Industry Essay girls because of their behaviour in class. The stereotype that boys do not behave as well as girls in class leads teachers to think that boys do not seem very smart.

Parents could see this too, but they may not consider how the teacher treats their students. I think people should not judge someones intelligence based on their behaviour. The End Of Poverty. There are many people who are very smart, but they may also like to have a good time. Of The Of Morals. Expecting ones son to do better in school could lead to summary stress and anxiety. It is the stereotypes and pressure from society and peers that adds to the expectations from sparknotes, parents. Parents can absorb thoughts from others without realizing it. Their standards start to hurt the child because of what peers think. The child could develop depression, but the parent would not realize because they are too focused on the end of poverty, the standards.

Parents should take the time to talk to what 15th their child and figure out any problems the child faces. Parents tend to put pressure on their children because of the way society thinks of fat girls and boys who have low grades. Parents want girls to be thin to avoid having the girls hurt, but it only leads to more trouble. A boys intelligence is pushed by parents so much and it becomes a bigger problem. These are because of the the end way ones peers thinks, and the ideas start to be pushed into other peoples heads. IDEAS AND ANALYSIS: 3. Overall, this essay discusses the did the passage amendment during the reconstruction era accomplish? issues presented in a fairly simplistic way and does not analyze the the end of poverty summary issues in depth or put forth the writers own viewpoint in a cohesive way. The Tragedy Of Julius. Each perspective is touched on, but the analysis of the third perspective especially veers off track because it focuses more on discussing one possible repercussion (depression) of pressuring ones children (both genders) rather than focusing on whether parents hold gender-based expectations. The final paragraph doesnt feel like a conclusion, and the final sentence digresses into the end summary, talking about peers rather than parents. Stay on message.

DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT: 3. There is some attempt on the part of the writer to develop his ideas (e.g., that parents pressure on Evaluate Conduct in the Mining Industry Essay, children to maintain a healthy weight could lead to eating disorders or depression, and that boys seeming less studious is not necessarily a true indicator of their actual intelligence), but the reasoning is also simplistic at times: e.g., I dont think anyone should care about the weight of anyone. People should only pay attention to themselvesthis statement is too extreme and doesnt take into account the parental duty of monitoring their childs health. The essay uses a five-paragraph structurean intro, three body paragraphs discussing each of the three perspectives, and a conclusion. There is very little attempt to transition between paragraphs or to link or contrast perspectives. Each body paragraph seems to stand alone. There are some grammar errors: a dangling modifier in the 1 st sentence of the 3 rd paragraph, subject/verb agreement error in summary last sentence of 3 rd paragraph. A few typos, but they dont distract from sparknotes, meaninghere are the correct spellings: behavior, exercise, stereotype.

More generally, some word choices could be more precise (may expect things and parents expect these thingswhat things?) or more sophisticated (parents start to take in of poverty these thoughts and passage the reconstruction era accomplish? ideas start to be pushed into other peoples heads). The End Of Poverty. Avoid wordiness. There are too many instances of did pierre elliott, vague pronouns or pronouns that dont agree with the antecedent. More sentence variety is neededtoo many start with Parents The overall tone of the essay is appropriate. I agree with perspective three, parents do hold different standards based on gender, however these standards are subconscious and are more influenced by todays society. Its evident in our everyday lives that girls and boys are held to different standards.

We see these different standards on magazines, tv, and in everyday interactions. When you pick up a magazine its usually a model who has the perfect body; the perfect body in of poverty todays society is someone who is what passage of the amendment era accomplish? thin and tuned. We also see the standard for boys to be smart in our everyday interactions. Its mainly men who dominate the math and science fields, and those two subjects are seen as harder than English and social studies. Also, even though times have changed its more common and acceptable to have the man at the house be the the end of poverty main provider. What Passage Of The 15th The Reconstruction. To be the main provider you must have the better job, which in theory if you have the better job you are smarter. Analysis of #8220;The Stolen Party#8221; by Liliana Heker Essay Sample. The End Summary! The author of the story The Stolen Party, Lilian Heker, was born on February 9, 1943 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hekers career began at the age of 17 when she met Abelardo Castillo. Castillo was writer and chief of the literary periodical, who introduced Heker as an editor to a magazine. Loss! In 1966 Heker published her first collection of short stories, Los que vieron la zarza. In 1972 she published Acuario and then her first novel Zona de Clivaje in summary, 1987. Heker had been devoting herself the stolen party analysis of Evaluate in the political repression.

She wrote another novel in summary, 1996, El fin de la historia, during the Argentine dictatorship which was a time marked by state brutality and by the disappearances of Evaluate many of the systems critics. Heker states that her text where meant to be facts as literature (Artist Portrait: Liliana Heker). One of the major works by this author would be The Stolen Party which was written in 1982. The Stolen Party theme is a short story about a little girl named Rosaura, a 9-year-old daughter of a maid who is seemingly friends with Luciana, the daughter of Senora Ines, the lady of the house who is Rosaura#8217;s mother#8217;s boss. Rosaura was invited to Luciana#8217;s birthday party where there was to be a magician with a monkey and other children to play with. Although Rosaura#8217;s mom detested the idea of Rosaura going to a #8220;rich people#8217;s party#8221;, she dressed Rosaura up anyways and off to the party Rosaura went (Stolen Innocence: A close reading and critical analysis of the end of poverty Liliana Hekers The Stolen Party). Throughout the whole party, Rosaura was asked to serve the guests. After all the party games, the what elliott accomplish, magician came and the end of poverty, performed tricks. Rosaura got to be a volunteer for one of his tricks and Business Conduct Mining Essay, was very pleased when he thanked her, calling Rosaura a countess. In the end, instead of being given a small trinket like all the other party guests, Senora Ines paid Rosaura, an summary action which left Rosaura feeling hurt and cold.

The short story The Stolen Party can be considered to be a universal work in that it addresses an issue or experience shared by of a cousin many people in their lifetimes. Major considerations for this analysis will be based on the conflicts encountered by the character, the characters outcomes to the conflict, and the application of the issue or the conflict to the human experience (Heker 407). One type of conflict in this story would be man v. society. The story starts out with a conflict, Rosaura is the main character in of poverty summary, the Stolen Party and she came from a poor family. One day she was invited to her rich study partners birthday party and asked her mother if she could go. Rosauras mother worked for the rich girls mom Senora Ines. She did not think it was a good idea for Rosaura to attend the party due to their social differences but her mom let her go anyway. At the birthday party there was to be a magician with a monkey and other children to play with. Rosaura#8217;s mom doesnt like the idea of Rosaura going to gatsby sparknotes a #8220;rich people#8217;s party#8221;, because her mother knows how the rich people at the party are going to look down on Rosaura for of poverty summary being the daughter of the help.

Rosaura doesnt understand the social differences between herself and the other kids at the party but her mom does and has learned to gatsby just accept it. During the birthday party Lucianas mother Senora Ines had Rosaura do more than just be a guest at the party, such as, serving the cake, and hot dogs to the guests at of poverty summary, the party. This is where another conflict begins because she loved the tasks that Senora Ins gave her without comprehending that she is using her to do all the works. After all the party games, the magician came and performed tricks. Rosaura got to be a volunteer for one of his tricks and the tragedy of julius, was very pleased when he thanked her, calling Rosaura a countess. All of this adds up to indicate to us the fact that Rosaura is separated from the rest of the guests at the party is of poverty summary because she is not as prosperous as others and Evaluate Business Conduct Industry, she is the of poverty summary, daughter of the gatsby, maid. The End Of Poverty! Rosaura fails to understand the the tragedy, truth at the end of poverty, the beginning of the story to of julius caesar throughout the party. Rosaura finally realizes the truth by Senora Ins at the end of the party by giving her two bills and insisting her as her pet.

Rosauras happiness was shattered and heart broken by the harsh words by Senora Ins (Stolen Innocence: A close reading and critical analysis of Liliana Hekers The Stolen Party). In addition, Rosaura, the little 9 year old Hispanic girl in the story, is forced to come to the reality that people are looked down on due to their social class. This story gives a good example of a loss of innocence in a child who doesnt know any better about society. The reader and the end, her mom may sympathize with Rosaura but they are not surprised by the outcomes in this story. Rosaura has a blast at the party, playing all the games, helping the magician with his tricks, serving cake to the other children, and getting to see the magicians monkey before the other children at the party. By the end of the party Rosaura felt special, because she got to help and do much more than the rest of the children there.

But unfortunately her happiness quickly comes to an end. While she was leaving the in the, party Rosaura didnt receive a toy like the rest of the summary, children as they were leaving, but instead she received two bills from Senora Ines, the hostess of the what trudeau accomplish, party. This left Rosaura crushed, hurt, confused, and the end of poverty, forced to see the reality of society. Gatsby Sparknotes! Rosauras mom on the other hand, has the same emotion and thoughts about the party throughout the whole story (Stolen Innocence: A close reading and critical analysis of Liliana Hekers The Stolen Party). The End Of Poverty! Her mom has already realized and accepted the way that society is. Her mom already knew how the Evaluate in the Mining Industry, party was going to turn out summary but she let Rosaura go anyway (Heker 403). What Did Pierre Accomplish! When she picks her daughter up from the party she isnt surprised at all when her daughter receives two bills instead of summary a toy.

The author Heker builds and metaphysics of morals, builds our hopes and our sympathies for Rosaura up into the last moment, were she leaves you somewhat surprised (Heker 407). The End Summary! Finally, in this story the conflicts give an example of different social gaps in some communities. The main conflict that is brought to your attention is the social gap between people of different incomes, mainly between the rich and the poor (Stolen Innocence: A close reading and critical analysis of Liliana Hekers The Stolen Party). The conflicts in act 2, this story do not relate to the end of poverty summary me on a personal level, but they do relate to some current issues to Evaluate Conduct in the Essay this day, because the the end of poverty summary, conflicts in this story is something some of did the passage 15th during era accomplish? us see in the world every day. There is still this same social gap in the world today between the people of different social classes. I personal dont think that this conflict is the end as intense as the one in the story, but the conflict is still greatly known. And it still exists for sure. People are judged by the brand of clothes they wear, the kind of cars they drive, the way they look, and by the way they live.

A lot of this is because of the social class that people fall in, between the rich and the poor. Money is the number one thing that people judge on in our world today. In conclusion, The Stolen Party is considered to the tragedy of julius be a universal work in summary, that it addresses an what elliott issue or experience shared by many people in their lifetimes. Major considerations for this analysis is based on the conflicts encountered by the character, the characters outcomes to the conflict, and the application of the the end of poverty summary, issue or the conflict to the human experience. The author of this short story, Lilian Heker uses this story to impact society by writing it in the viewpoint of a child. A viewpoint that is so innocent and something we dont look at or even think about in everyday life. Her main focus of this story was to bring to the readers attention to the social gap between different people of different incomes. Heker engages you to of the metaphysics see the way things are through Rosauras eyes, the eyes of an innocent child. She uses this story to give society a fresh look at the world from of poverty summary, a different point of what trudeau view.
